Waikiki Beach

No trip to Hawaii is complete without stopping for some gratuitous beach shots, so here they are! This is the main touristy beach on the island near where all the hotels are. [ medium ]  [ big ]   [ medium ]  [ big ]   [ medium ]  [ big ]   [ medium ]  [ big ]   [ medium ]  [ big ]

Next to the beach were a bunch of statues of old Hawaiian aristocrats. Evidently they were keen on surfing too... [ medium ]  [ big ]   [ medium ]  [ big ]   [ medium ]  [ big ]

These are photos of banyan trees -- a common site in Honolulu. It was claimed that they could grow almost without bound and that one of them was the size of a city block. Maybe that was exaggeration though :) [ medium ]  [ big ]   [ medium ]  [ big ]   [ medium ]  [ big ]

A monument dedicated to some of the Japanese-Americans who fought during the second world war and who were very highly decorated. [ medium ]  [ big ]   [ medium ]  [ big ]
